What sites at Fall Creek Falls SP, TN

We hope to spend a couple of nights at Fall Creek Falls State Park the second week of November. It is first come, first served after Nov. 1. What are the best sites for a 35 ft. 5'er with 3 slides? Also, does it get below freezing at night that time of year?
Thanks in advance

RE: Nashville to Phoenix routing

If you go west on I-40 from Albuquerque you can go to Petroglyph National Monument, the Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Desert. You could also visit the Meteor Crater and go through Sedona on the way to Phoenix.
Have a great trip!

RE: Where Should We Go?

Here is a great link for the Blue Ridge Parkway http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/
We spent some time along the parkway in June. We stayed in Staunton, VA and Fancy Gap, VA. From Staunton you can go on the southern end of the Skyline Drive and the Northern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Be sure to go to the Natural Bridge. It is outside the parkway and privately run but worth a visit. From Fancy Gape you can go to Mt. Airy, NC, the original Mayberry, and drive on the parkway to the Bluegrass Music Center and to Mabry Mill. Both are worthwhile.
Have a great trip.

RE: Tybee here we come

Take the kids to the Tybee Marine Science Center. Be sure to take a dolphin tour. Climb the lighthouse and visit Tybee Museum. Go to Ft. Pulaski. Walk out on the pier and watch people fish. Ride your bikes around the island. Spend a day in historic Savannah. Another restaurant that is good with kids is Fannie's on the Beach. This is a great time to visit Tybee - no crowds and the weather is beautiful.

RE: Campgrounds along I-77

Fancy Gap KOA - used to be called the Fox Trail campground. We were there in June. I highly recommend it. Very nice owners, easy on/off the interstate.

RE: RV Campgrounds Recommended along I-40

We stayed at Red Rock Canyon SP in Hinton, Ok with our 35 ft. 5'er and loved it. Just be aware that there is a very steep descent into the canyon as you enter the park.
Don't miss Cadillac Ranch and the Big Texan Steak House in Amarillo.

RE: Arches N.P., Bryce and Zion in October/November

We stayed at Portal in the summer of 2006. We had plenty of room on our site for our 35 ft. fifth wheel with slides. The park is convenient to Arches, Moab, Dead Horse Point SP and Canyonlands NP. I would highly recommend it.

Campground recommendations Columbia, SC and Knoxville, TN

Will be traveling through Columbia, SC and Knoxville, TN and will just need an overnight stay in each place. Any recommendations for a 35 ft. fifth wheel with 3 slides and pet friendly? Easy on and off the interstate would be great.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Planning a trip to Glacier NP next summer can you advise?

We were there in August 2006. Bring rain gear, long pants and sweatshirts to wear when it gets cool at night. We stayed at Johnson's RV Park in St. Mary on the east side and really enjoyed it. There is a very good restaurant on site and other good restaurants in town.

RE: I-77 south from Ohio to I-85

I second the Fancy Gap KOA in Fancy Gap, VA. We had a large level back in site with steps up to a patio area surrounded by trees. Some of the sites had their own balcony. It was easy to get to the interstate and the owners were very helpful.
Pipestem State Park is also very good but a little bit farther off the interstate on a winding road. You would probably want to stay more than one night.

RE: Jekyll Island, Georgia

Don's miss Cumberland Island National Seashore. You have to take the ferry from St. Mary's. More info here http://www.nps.gov/cuis/. Drive to St. Simons to visit the lighthouse and Ft. Frederica and try some of the many seafood restaurants.

RE: Favorite Campground in the Smokey Montains

I second Yogi in the Smokies in Cherokee(jellystone-Cherokee). Ours was a full hook up waterfront site convenient to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We were there the first week of Oct. and the weather was cool at night.

RE: Harpers Ferry, WV KOA

We stayed in site 36 for 4 nights in June in a 35 ft. fifth wheel with 3 slides. Yes, it is tight getting around the loop but one of the campground hosts helped guide us to the site and they even trimmed some of the tree limbs to keep them off of our roof. We had plenty of room at our site. We were there for a family gathering in Virginia and didn't spend much time in the park. It is very convenient for everything we wanted to do in the area.

RE: Question about Hillsborough SP in Florida

We like the sites in loop 1 (82-113). Some of the back-ins are pretty tight. We had a hard time getting our 35 ft. fifth wheel into site 95 becuase of trees across the road. You will probably be ok with your size rig. Hillsborough River is one of our favortie parks. You will love it.

RE: MD to Yellowstone - What to see along the way?

Don't know when you will be getting on 90 headed west but I would recommend staying at Blue Mounds State Park just off I-90 in Minnesota. In the Black Hills area, must see things are Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Badlands, Wall Drug, Corn Palace, and don't miss the Devil's Tower in Wyoming. There is also a very nice KOA just east of the Badlands near Belvidere. I think it's the Belvidere East. Very nice owners and restaurant with great Indian tacos. Spend as much time as you can in Yellowstone. I can't help you with I-70, we haven't been that way.
